The fact is some are more practiced and mature at resolving conflict as scripture counsels us. As I've often said, everyone seems mature until you have a conflict with them. But peacemakers are among us. When you encounter conflict, seek help from those who have set an example for conflict resolution in their own lives. It doesn’t have to be formal, but it does need to be personal.

This week, I'm continuing in a series to offer practical help at resolving conflict. As I noted last week, conflict is inevitable, even among church folk. But broken relationships are not. Engaging conflict in a Biblical way is not easy, but when its practiced reconciliation and healing can occur. That's why Jesus calls the peacemakers blessed because they will see God working in their midst.

Blessed are the Peacemakers

Can the church do conflict better than the world? I believe we can. But to do so we need to practice what the Bible says regarding handling conflict, especially in disputatious times. So, I’m going to share some practical insight on the matter over a series of posts called: Blessed are the Peacemakers. We’re going to look at a particular conflict between Godly people in a church called Philippi. The apostle Paul hears about the dispute and addresses it in a letter he sent to that church. What he says to them about how to resolve their conflict is incredibly instructive to us in ours.
