Knee-Mail from Dave

Dear Knee-Mail Friends,

Hey there!  Hope you’re having a good week even as some snow approaches.  Fortunately it’s coming in today and tomorrow so we should be able to get the parking lot clear for Sunday.  (Funny how I’m always thinking that way!)

This Sunday, I will be wrapping up my teaching series, “Give, Save, Live.”  This week the topic is the importance of living within one’s means.  Failure here has many people dealing with serious debt issues.  I want to provide some motivation and give some counsel regarding this.

Here are some other prayer requests:

1.  Gwen and I are looking forward to “getting out of Dodge” on Sunday afternoon.   We’ll be driving down to Indy and then fly out on Monday for a place that’s far warmer (!).  I’d appreciate your prayer for our travel, health, and renewal. 

2.  Joe Collins and I worked on a special video teaching for the next Sunday.  I wanted to be able to kick off the new series on the life of Joseph and, hopefully, this will allow me to be “here” even though I’m really gone.  Please pray for him as he puts all that together and for Suze as she hosts this unique instruction time.

3.  I shared with you last week about one of our elders, Steve Troxel, and his recently diagnosed lung cancer.  Here’s an update from them: “We are dealing with Non-small Cell Carcinoma of the lung, probably stage 3a or 3b.  Our next steps are to get a PET scan and an appointment with a medical oncologist to better diagnose this and get our treatment options.  These appointments will be made as soon as possible.”   Please continue to keep Steve and Kari in your prayers.
