Follow the Star

In a year like 2020, the world is looking for a sign of hope.

The world of the early first century was no different. Disease, divisions, and death were the headlines of that day too. But—far from Bethlehem—a group of wise, non-Jewish people searched the skies for a sign of hope that the world was about to change. When they found it, they followed it. And it led them to the King who would rule their world.

Whether this star was a comet, planet, or some interstellar event, we cannot know for sure. But what we can know from the Biblical record is that God provided a clear sign of hope that led to King Jesus so this group of outsiders might meet and worship Him.

Today, God is still providing the world signs that lead to King Jesus--even if you are far away from God or struggling with the darkened skies of 2020. This Christmas Eve we remember and celebrate the signs of hope God put in our lives that led us to King Jesus, even as we invite our family and friends to follow us to Jesus and worship Him too.
